Author Guidelines

1. Scope and Article Types
SLW publishes original research articles, review articles, case studies and other article types specified by the Editorial Office, provided that they make a clear contribution to logistics, logistics systems, supply chains, readiness, resilience or logistics management. The detailed journal profile is described in the “Aims and Scope” section.

2. Manuscript Language
Manuscripts must be prepared in English. British English is preferred. Authors should use one English language variant consistently throughout the manuscript.

3. Length and File Format
The manuscript should comply with the current SLW editorial requirements. According to the current principles for preparing a scientific publication, the recommended length is between 20,000 and 40,000 characters with spaces, including references. Manuscripts should be submitted in .doc or .docx format.

4. Manuscript Structure
The manuscript should include at least: title, abstract, keywords, introduction, research aim and problem, methodology, literature review or state of knowledge, research or analytical section, conclusions and references. The abstract should present the research problem, aim, method, key findings and conclusions.

5. Keywords
Authors should provide 5 keywords. Keywords should be separated by semicolons (;).

6. Tables, Figures and Visual Materials
Tables, figures, charts and photographs should be legible, properly described and directly related to the article content. Visual materials should use a balanced colour palette and remain legible in greyscale. Authors are responsible for securing rights to third-party materials.

7. Citations and References
References should be current, relevant to the research problem and reflect the international state of knowledge. Excessive self-citation, unjustified citations and citations unrelated to the manuscript content should be avoided. Citations and references should follow the current style indicated in the SLW principles for preparing a scientific publication: Principles for preparing a scientific publication.

8. Author Declarations
Authors must provide the required declarations, in particular on originality, no simultaneous submission, author contributions, conflicts of interest, funding, research data availability, use of AI tools, rights to third-party materials and consent of all co-authors.

9. Publication Ethics and Originality
Authors must comply with SLW publication ethics and the publication originality procedure. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, redundant publication, ghostwriting, guest authorship, citation manipulation, data falsification and undisclosed or inappropriate use of AI tools are unacceptable.

10. Research Data Availability
Where the nature of the study allows, authors should indicate where data, code, models, questionnaires or other materials enabling verification of results are available. If data cannot be shared, the reason should be stated.

11. Publication Fees
Rules on publication fees and waivers are described in the “Fees & Waivers” section.
