This policy sets out the rules on copyright, the publishing licence, Creative Commons licensing, self-archiving and the use of third-party materials in articles published in “Systemy Logistyczne Wojsk” / “Military Logistics Systems” (SLW).
Copyright and Author Rights
Unless otherwise indicated, authors retain economic copyright in their articles.
Moral rights remain with the authors in accordance with applicable law.
Upon acceptance for publication, authors grant the Publisher a non-exclusive licence to publish, reproduce, distribute, archive, index and make the article publicly available on the journal website, in scholarly repositories, indexing databases and other distribution channels related to SLW’s publishing activities.
Granting this licence to the Publisher does not restrict authors’ rights to further use their own article in accordance with the applicable Creative Commons licence and the self-archiving rules specified below.
Detailed declarations concerning copyright, co-author consent and the publishing licence granted to the Publisher may be submitted by authors during the submission, acceptance or publication process.
Creative Commons Licence
Articles accepted for publication from journal issue 1/2026 onwards are made available to users under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0), unless otherwise indicated for a specific item.
The CC BY 4.0 licence allows users to copy, distribute, share, adapt and use articles, including for commercial purposes, provided that:
• appropriate credit is given to the authors;
• the source of publication is indicated;
• the DOI is provided, where assigned;
• the licence is indicated;
• any changes made to the material are indicated;
• no additional legal or technological restrictions are applied in a way that contradicts the licence terms.
Articles published before 01.01.2026 remain available under the licence indicated for the relevant article, PDF file or publication metadata. Where an earlier article is marked as published under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 licence, the use of that article is governed by that licence unless the Editorial Office and the relevant rights holders decide otherwise.
Any use beyond the scope of the licence indicated for the relevant article requires permission from the relevant rights holder(s).
Self-Archiving and Repositories
Authors may deposit their work in institutional, subject, national and international repositories, as well as on personal websites and scholarly profiles.
Authors may deposit, in particular:
• the preprint, i.e. the version of the manuscript before peer review;
• the Author Accepted Manuscript, i.e. the version accepted after peer review and revisions but before final production;
• the Version of Record, i.e. the published version of the article.
SLW does not apply an embargo to the self-archiving of the published version of the article. Authors may deposit the Version of Record immediately after publication.
When depositing an article, authors should provide the full bibliographic reference, DOI, journal title and a link to the version published on the SLW website. The licence under which the article is made available should also be indicated.
Authors affiliated with the Military University of Technology may deposit publications in accordance with the rules of the MUT Knowledge Base and the MUT Open Access Policy.
The SLW Editorial Office seeks to make the journal’s self-archiving policy visible in external publishing policy registries, in particular in Open Policy Finder. Once the relevant record has been created or updated, the appropriate link will be provided on the journal website.
Third-Party Materials
Authors are responsible for obtaining any rights, permissions or licences required to use third-party materials in their articles, including photographs, maps, figures, diagrams, tables, charts, data, text excerpts and other copyright-protected materials.
If a specific item is not covered by the Creative Commons licence applied to the article, this must be clearly indicated in the caption, footnote or another appropriate place in the article.
Authors should mark third-party materials in a way that enables readers to determine who owns the rights, on what basis the material has been used and whether it may be reused.
Licence Information in Articles
Copyright and licence information should be visible in the full text of each article, in particular in the PDF version and, where applicable, in the HTML version and article metadata.
Recommended wording for articles published under the CC BY 4.0 licence:
© The Author(s), [year]. This article is published in “Systemy Logistyczne Wojsk” / “Military Logistics Systems” under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0).
For articles published under another licence, the licence applicable to the relevant article should be indicated, for example:
